Do you approach your business as a worker or as a business owner and marketer. I read something very interesting from one of the masters of business building last night. Dan Kennedy is known as one of the greatest living marketers today. He has literally made millions and millions of dollars for his customers. I was reading one of his books last night and what he said made me stand up and take notice. He said the biggest problem with most business owners is they do not understand that their job is to market and grow their business, it is not to do the daily work of the business.
Do you do that? Are you spending every minute of every working day thinking about how to grow your business or are you concentrating on the work side of the business?
Let me give you an example. My friend Justin over at www.how-to-start-a-lawn-care-business.com is working on marketing his business not cutting grass. You may not be interested in starting a lawn care business but you can definitely learn from what he is doing. He is concentrating on the building side of the equation and not the actual yard work.
This is how you need to view your multi-level marketing business. The people who make the big payouts in MLM are not concentrating on selling soap or cosmetics. The big leaguers are spending every minute thinking about how they are going to find more leads to add to their warm list and how they are going to convert those leads once they have them. The people with the massive downlines and huge monthly checks understand that they are business men and women and they understand where to put their effort. Think about it. How much of your product could you hope to sell face to face to customers. You might sell enough to make a few extra bucks but that is not where the big paydays are. The Big Money is in getting hundreds or thousands of people to sell the product and taking a cut off of each one. Don't spend your time talking to 100 sales customers. Instead, find one hundred people for your down line and have them each sell to 100 customers. You now have a commission on 10, 000 sales. SWEET.
The whole point of this blog is to help you to grow your business. Email leads are only one of the ways that you can go about finding leads to explode your customer base. The real key is getting out of the mindset of working in your business and instead work on your business. Everything you do should be directly linked to finding more people to add to your down line and then training them to find people to add to their operation. This is how the heavy hitters have built up organizations with thousands of people all shoving money up to the top.
When you have experienced as many conventions as I have you start to see a pattern from the super successful who give talks. They don't spend any time at all on how to sell the product or service. These super-builders understand, just like you need to, that the money is in the downline, it is not in the product. What does this mean? Let me explain. Have you ever noticed that the really successful people in your MLM network have been successful with other plans also? It is usually true. They just go from one opportunity to the next building massive organizations generating 6 and 7 figure sales. It really doesn't matter what the plan is because these masters of multi-level marketing spend all their time finding other people interested in building a business and then teaching those people how to find more people.
They work ON their business not IN their business. What do you do with the cheap mlm leads you develop. Do you try to sell them product and hope to make a few bucks or do you instantly start sizing your prospects up to see if them want to build their own MLM empire. If it is not the latter, you need to change your focus and start business building not business working. Let your prospect talk and listen. Are they happy with their lives or are they burning for more? The ones on fire are the ones you need to spend your time on.
So what does this mean for finding good MLM email leads. It means you need to structure your message to attract people who want to build a business not someone who wants to buy a bottle of vitamins. You are not in the vitamin, or soap, or cosmetic business. You are in the downline building business and the sooner your get on board with that mind set the sooner you will reach your goals whatever they are.
